Spring Break 2023
We have stayed at 3 different units at Kuilima Estates over the past 10 years. We "thought" we had reserved a different unit for this year, but were pleasantly surprised with Unit 21 Bird of Paradise. It was by far the most well appointed unit to date. Ample closet space and shelving, additional bedding and pillows in case we needed to change beds, ample dishes, beach chairs, pool towels. The bedrooms both had window air conditioning units that cooled the room nicely as well as ceiling fans throughout the unit. There was a standing fan for each space. The bathrooms both had a tub/shower combo. There was only some dated wear'n tear in the bathrooms, the rest of the unit was clean and updated. These are 1970's units in their original appointment. There has obviously been paint and flooring that has been updated, but you get what you pay for. If you want NEW then pay the $800+/night for a resort room. These units have always been the perfect fit for our family. We spend each day at a beach somewhere, eat in the Turtle Bay restaurants (all within walking distance) and enjoy the Kuilima Cove. Beautiful Location with everything Needed
We arrived on property via the given directions with little challenge. We arrived after dark so finding our villa number was a bit challenging due to lack of lighting but we did it. A porch light being left on would have been helpful. Our villa was set up as stated and we were excited to settle and explore. Every bed was used by our party of 6 and more comfortable beds was everyones' request/desire. We had full days of beach and activity so we fell in to bed every night good and tired. I worked with a rental company as an inspector and was responsible for being sure everything was clean and welcoming for incoming guests. I didnt get that welcoming feeling since the pillows on the sofa were out of place and not fluffed and freshened and the twin beds in loft were a bit disheveled. The arms of the chair were quite soiled and is such an easy spot clean that didnt happen. The sofa was super comfortable and loved by all. The installed ceiling fans need attention too on cleanliness and function. It just didnt feel like it was known for months we were coming and rental company checked everything the day or two before our arrival to be sure everything was fresh, clean and ready. Our key FOB wasn't in the villa either but a phone call fixed that with ease and getting in the gate prior to getting FOB was not a problem. A Welcome note on the counter would have been a nice touch. We are a very laid back family and we were happy there and did not complain. I am sharing here so the rental company/owners can improve if they wish to. The location is spectacular and we walked to the resort every morning for coffee and amazing views. It is a nice villa that needs just a bit of TLC and attention to make it a GREAT villa but it did have everything we needed and we would all stay there again. Oahu is a special magical place and we went to several different beaches during our 10 day stay and visited several food trucks and hiked. We will return!

Pretty great place
We had 2 condos right next to each other, which helped our large family stay connected. The Bird of Paradise was a lot nicer than the Hale Lily next door. Bird of Paradise felt very homey and comfortable. The bedroom carpets are pretty old and stained but they didn't feel dirty, the bathrooms were very dated. The kitchen is nice, very spacious and had everything we needed, but the Hamilton Beach blender was gutless, so if you're into smoothies... it's a major challenge. We called the office about a few issues which were resolved immediately. This was very impressive. We loved all the space in the entry to drop our bags and shoes. And the storage shelves in the entry were super helpful for organizing everyone. There is an air conditioner in each bedroom and if you put a fan in front of it you can blow the cold air into the main areas. We were there at the end of August and it was very hot. This method was particularly important for the people sleeping in the loft. The back patio was enclosed and there were a lot of beach items like chairs, umbrella, snorkel set, sand toys. We really appreciated these items. This condo was nice because it was on the end of the row and there was an extra window on that wall that let in nice light. The swimming pool is a quick walk down the sidewalk, literally just a few condo’s away. Our parking spot was right in front of our condo. Overall the condo was a bit dated, but still comfortable, especially the living room. The beds were pretty comfortable and the closet organizers were so helpful to make it feel like home. We would drive down to the free parking at Turtle Bay beach to swim and snorkel, and walk around the beautiful hotel lobby, also the restaurants are really nice. The location is close to food trucks and grocery stores in Laie and then the other direction is Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and Haleiwa town which has great restaurants and shopping. You can’t beat the Turtle Bay location.

The rental was perfect for what we came home for. Coming home to Kahuku is always a pleasure. The property was very clean. Property Management company was very helpful and nice. Shame on the previous renters who didn't report the broken dishwasher. But other than that, I would recommend it, to others.

Perfect Family Stay
We are very familiar with what is available in the way of condominiums on the north shore, and this place was good. The location - in Kuilima Estates - is excellent. It's close enough to Kuhuku for food trucks and such, but remote enough to not be far from really secluded beaches. There's nice hiking on the property, and having the golf course right outside the patio gave us a really nice feeling of openness (great when you have kids who like to run around after dinner!). The unit was exactly as described and as it appeared in the photos: Open, bright, and spacious. The beds were comfortable, and communication between us and the office was good and timely. Negatives: They were honest about the ant problem, and it really does exist. I encourage anyone staying here to be sure to thoroughly clean after every meal, because they come quickly! Also, it was a bummer to have to drive 10 minutes into the office for beach towels. They really should do something about that arrangement. Maybe offer to have them there at check in? It was kind of a bummer to walk around and see how much beach equipment many of the other units had, and contrast that with how little was on our porch. However, we left A LOT of stuff (3 boogie boards & a beach umbrella), so maybe that won't be a problem for the next family. Neither of these would be a reason not to stay here again, and we do hope to return to this unit again one of these days. You would do well to pick this place for the price. We slept 6 people and never felt crowded.

Family 0f 6 summer vacation
This is our second time vacationing at turtle bay condos. This condo was in need of a update , my main complaint is the master bedrooms bed was so hard it felt llike I was sleeping on a box spring mattress . We stayed 11 nights and I did not sleep good the entire time. I work of atleast add a mattress pad on top to give it some comfort

Nice vacation
This unit was nice but many little things needed attention. The front screed door could not close, ants coming in the side window, toaster not working, sponge in the kitchen was used, fan in downstairs bedroom could not be adjusted. We love Turtle Bay and know the units are older so we expect some inconveniences.

Great Stay
The unit was well maintained and airy. The kitchen was great to work in and there were more than adequate supplies.
One suggestion would be to add additional towel racks in the downstairs bathroom, as well as a couple more bath towels. Towels did not have a chance to dry unless we draped them over chairs in the living room.

GOLF TRIP
The unit was in very good condition. It comfortably slept four golfers (5 beds). All appliances worked OK except for the super loud screeching bathroom fan on the first floor. Fan needs to be replaced ASAP. Perfect location for golfing at the Palmer, Kahuku and Fazio course-100 yards walk to Lei Lei restaurant and the clubhouse. Great food, service & atmosphere at Lei Lei's Bar & Grille. One time $160 cleaning fee is steep for two nights stay- Cheaper to stay 5 nights or longer.

I like the location and size of the unit for our family of five. I only gave 3 starts for condition of property b/c I think a few things need to be updated from the owners: 1) the curtain was ripped in the living room, 2) I think the bedroom furniture, esp. in the master, could be upgraded and3) the beds and bedding really need to be upgraded the master bed was so hard my mom had to bring a foam top from home (she lives on the island). I really do like this unit and do hope the owners consider making the few upgrades - I plan on renting it again next summer. Mahalo.

Relaxing Vacation

Overall OK. it was not super clean (hair ball in the master shower drain, hair on the bathroom floor). The dryer vent was not connected so it ran into the condo making it very hot.
Asking the renters to come to the management company to check in and out is an unnecessary hassle for the customer.

Relaxing place in Hawaii's surf zone
This was one of the best places we have ever stayed out. Our group was a family of 6, there is 2 rooms available, plus a loft, also can sleep on the sofa.
Kitchen is great, everything is there, you can cook yourselves.
The outlook is on the first fairway, it is a safe area & very quiet/ peaceful.
The rooms were very tidy & spacious.
Only downside was can't contact reception after 12.00 SAT or anytime SUN.
We highly recommend this property & will stay here in the future.

Golf Retreat
We enjoyed our stay at the Estates of Turtle Bay. The condos were convenient to the golf course and as a group we were conveniently located near each other. We try to come out each year and are looking forward to being their again next year.

We had a wonderful stay at the clean, comfortable condo. Away from the bustle of Waikiki right on
grounds of golf course. Walking distance to Turtle Bay Hotel, food and beach. Felt very safe with security cruising by yet private enough for relaxing getaway. Close to fabulous Polynesian Cultural Center with the best show and luau food on the island. PCC has new Hukilau Marketplace with different food and really nice shopping choices in the front of PCC with free entry and parking. Fabulous fun on beautiful North Shore. I liked the easy check-in had to check out at Kahuku Sugar Mill office but that was easy too. Will definitely return.

I would stay there again. If I could ask a favor to the cleaning crew who cleans the property before a guest checks in, I would ask her to report all broken items to the maintenance right away. As soon as we moved in, the closet door did not work. The bathroom's sink's stopper did not work and could use it until it was repaired.

A Vacation in Paradise

Great location and fairly nice unit. The kids enjoyed the pool, beach and horseback riding. The boys enjoyed the golf course view and the rounds. A/C units were a little loud though. I'd diffinately stay in this unit again. Much Mahalo's for our weekend getaway!

Great location for the Turtle Bay area and fireworks. Pool and area around pool should have been cleaned better. Disappointed the pool near our room was for adults only. Lots of ants.

Great Location, Love the North Shore
We love the north shore and Turtle Bay. This condo is nice because it is close to the road so it's easy to walk to the beach. It has had some updates and it was pretty clean. I feel like it needs some deep cleaning and maybe some new bedding (sheets were clean) and new cushions on the furniture in the living room and kitchen chairs. The dishwasher was really smelly when we arrived. The carpet needs a good cleaning. The drawers smelled musty. Ants if you leave any food out but that is to be expected anywhere I think. Saw only two roaches the first day but one dead so I think they work pretty hard to spray regularly. Overall a decently clean place in a great spot.

It was sometimes very hard to get in and out of the property by car. The condo slept 6 but they only had one gate key per condo. My husband encountered a very rude employee when he tried to get in and didn't have the gate card.

The location of the condo was great. The view was beautiful! We were very comfortable. The cleaning was the only thing that could have been improved. There were things under the bed from previous guests, a huge hairball next to the dresser and hair on the bathroom floor. I wish ther was a vacuum, so we could have cleaned more! It is also a good walking distance from the beach!

Our stay in Hawaii was wonderful and the Turtle Bay Estates complex was beautiful. Our group traveled to Oahu to attend a family wedding and together we rented four units in the Turtle Bay Resort. I can't comment on the other units I would like to offer the following on unit 21 west.
Generally the unit was very nice but upon arrival we found the first floor bedroom bedding to be disgusting with what appeared to be fecal matter on the bedspread and discovery of used tissues between the sheets. While we called and the bedding was changed by your staff the situation presented the potential to transmit disease to everyone that stayed in that unit. This matter alone made me question the cleanliness to the entire unit and frankly put a damper on the entire stay. What is the cleaning fee for if not cleaned?
First impression; a failing grade.
Additionally, entry to the complex through the gated driveway was at best inconvenient. Only one pass card per unit was available. Several of the attendants suggested that a visit to the Sugar Mill Office would enable me to get a second pass card but when I visited the office I was told there were none available. Calling the unit to have someone buzz the gate only works if someone is available in the unit to do so. Generally the unit was very nice but upon arrival we found the first floor bedroom bedding to be disgusting with what appeared to be fecal matter on the bedspread and discovery of used tissues between the sheets. While we called and the bedding was changed by your staff the situation presented the potential to transmit disease to everyone that stayed in that unit. This matter alone made me question the cleanliness to the entire unit and frankly put a damper on the entire stay. What is the cleaning fee for if not cleaned?
First impression; a failing grade.
Additionally, entry to the complex through the gated driveway was at best inconvenient. Only one pass card per unit was available. Several of the attendants suggested that a visit to the Sugar Mill Office would enable me to get a second pass card but when I visited the office I was told there were none available. Calling the unit to have someone buzz the gate only works if someone is available in the unit to do so. The property was in a great location, right on the golf course and very close to the beach. Quite and reasonably clean, but definitely could use come updating. Enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic vacation
We were really enjoyed our stay at the Kuilima Estates at Turtle Bay. Actually it was the second time we rented a condo there. It was an ideal for our family of 5 people. The location is perfect, far from the city and very close to the beach. It's very relaxing and ideal for the families with kids. We will definitely come back and will recommend this place to our friends.

DAD'S 60TH BIRTHDAY
MY HUSBAND TURNED 60 IN AUGUST SO INSTEAD OF HAVING A BIG PARTY THE KIDS AND I DECIDED TO HAVE A TURTLE BAY GETAWAY FOR HIM, AND OF COURSE, US. OUR BOYS WERE 26 AND 27 AT THE TIME AND BOTH AVID GOLFERS LIKE THEIR DAD SO WE PACKED UP THE GRANDKIDS AND SPENT 3 BEAUTIFUL DAYS IN YOUR CONDO. THE CONDO WAS PERFECT AND EVERYONE HAD THEIR OWN SPACE IT WAS CLEAN AND WELL EQUIPPED AND BEST OF ALL CENTRALLY LOCATED WITH WALKING DISTANCE TO THE GOLF COURSE, LEI LEI'S RESTAURANT, AND THE POOL AT THE CONDO COMPLEX.
I WOULD SAY THE ONLY COMPLAINTS WE HAD WERE THAT THERE WASN'T A KING SIZED BED DOWN STAIRS AND WE AREN'T RATTAN DECOR PEOPLE AND PREFER A COMFY SOFA, BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS GREAT. WE GO TO TURTLE BAY AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, SOMETIMES TWICE AND ALWAYS STAY IN THE 'S PEACEFUL AND RELAXING, THAT'S WHY WE CALLED IT OUR GETAWAY.
