Waimea Bay Sunset Beach
'Ehukai, or "Reddish Tinged Water", is the home of the famous Bonzai Pipeline. When
the surf is pounding, this beautiful North Shore beach can be the most spectacular and the most dangerous in the world. When the waves are steep and powerful, they break furiously on the shallow reef. In calmer months, usually spring and summer, swimming is
good over the sandbar.
Possible high surf and strong currents, especially during winter months. Waves may reach up to 25-feet or more. From June to September there are incidents of stinging Limu (seaweed). Obey all postings and warning signs and flags. Check with the lifeguard
regarding swimming conditions. Monitor ocean conditions closely.
